Branches

1. Overview

The Branches feature in DotlyMaps allows administrators to create and manage organizational branches by defining their basic information, address, and operational assignments.

When adding a branch, administrators can provide details such as the Branch Name, Branch Code, Branch Manager, Contact Email, and Phone Number. The branch can also be associated with a physical address and mapped to specific Territories, Departments, and Teams.

Each branch can also be assigned a Branch Color to help distinguish it within the application.

2. Why it matters

Branches help organizations organize their operations across different locations and connect each branch with the appropriate organizational resources. Assigning territories, departments, and teams to a branch provides a structured way to represent the organization's operational hierarchy.

3. When to use

Use the Branches feature when you need to:

  • Create a new organizational or operational branch.
  • Store branch contact and location information.
  • Assign territories, departments, and teams to a branch.
  • Visually distinguish branches using different colors.

4. Prerequisites

Before creating a branch, make sure you have the required branch information available, including:

  • Branch name and branch code.
  • Branch manager and contact details.
  • Branch address, including city, country, and ZIP/Postal Code.
  • Relevant territories, departments, and teams to assign to the branch.

5. Step-by-step guide

  1. Navigate to the Branches section and select the option to add a new branch. The Add Branch form opens.
  2. Under Basic Information, enter the Branch Name, Branch Code, Branch Manager, Contact Email, and Phone Number.
  3. Under Address, enter the Street Address, City, Country, and ZIP/Postal Code of the branch.
  4. Under Operational Mapping, select the relevant Territory, Department, and Team to associate with the branch.
  5. Select a Branch Color to visually distinguish the branch within the application.
  6. Review the entered information and select Save Branch to create the branch.
  7. Select Cancel if you want to close the form without saving the branch.

6. Example

A company creates a Lahore Branch, enters its manager and contact information, adds the branch address, assigns its relevant territory, department, and team, and selects a branch color for identification.

  • Keep branch contact and address information accurate.
  • Assign the appropriate territories, departments, and teams.
  • Use distinct branch colors for easier visual identification.
