Map Workspace Overview
Overview
The Map Workspace is the primary DotlyMaps interface where CRM records appear as geocoded markers. From this view you can search records, apply filters, toggle modules, open visual analytics (bubble, heat, and cluster maps), plan routes, manage territories, view widgets, and access Settings.
Why it matters
A single map workspace gives sales, service, and operations teams a shared geographic view of customers, leads, and field work so ownership, coverage, and performance are visible at a glance.
When to use
Use this module when you need to:
· You need a live geographic view of CRM records.
· You want to switch between modules, filters, and map tools without leaving the map.
· You need to open Settings, AI Chat, routes, or territories from one place.
Prerequisites
· An active DotlyMaps organization and workspace.
· At least one Map Module with geocoded records (recommended).
· A signed-in user with permission to view the map.
Example
A sales ops lead opens the workspace, enables the Leads and Accounts modules, applies a region filter, and reviews cluster density before assigning territories for the week.
Best practices
· Start with one or two core modules before enabling every layer.
· Use filters to focus the map before analyzing heat or clusters.
· Save mental context: work module → territory → route → tasks in that order when onboarding a region.
Troubleshooting
Map is empty
· Confirm Map Modules are created and synced.
· Check that modules are toggled on in the left rail.
· Verify records have valid addresses and geocoding completed.
Toolbar icons missing or disabled
· Confirm your role has the required permissions.
· Check plan / add-on access for premium tools.
